Add/Edit News Item Page

The Add/Edit News page allows authorized users to create and maintain the news items that are displayed on the Home page of the Retailer Portal. In addition to text, images and attachments can be included with the news item. The user enters dates that define when the news item's headline first appears on the Home page and when the news item stops appearing.

What You Can Do

From the Find News Items page, click the Add News Item button to display the Add/Edit News Item page.

Enter the following data to create the news item.

Headline	Enter text for the news item's headline. The headline links to the news item on the Home page.
Appears	Enter the date the news item is to appear on the Home page.
Expires	Enter the date the news item is to stop being displayed on the Home page.
With restriction type	Select Unrestricted to display the news item to all users. Select Location to restrict the news item to all users at the location level. To restrict the news item to a specific location, enter the location number in Restricted to location. Select Corporation to restrict the news item to all corporate users. To restrict the news item to a specific corporation, enter the location number in Restricted to corporation. Select Area to restrict the news item to all users in a specific area. To restrict the news item to a specific area, enter the area number in Restricted to Area. Select District to restrict the news item to all users in a specific district. To restrict the news item to a specific district, enter the area number in Restricted to District.

Enter the news content in the text box. Use the buttons in the box to format the text.

To add an attachment to the news item, click the Add Attachment button and browse to the location of the file you want to attach, and then double-click the file to upload it to the news. item. Repeat this step to add multiple attachments.

To add an image to the news item, click the Add Image button (located near the bottom left of the page) and browse to the location of the gif, jpg, or png file you want to attach, and then double-click the file to upload it. Repeat this step to add multiple images.

Click the Insert Image in Editor button to add the image to the news content edit box.

Click the Save Changes button.

From the Find News Items page, search for the news item that needs changing and display it under Matching News Items. Click the Edit News Item button to display the Add/Edit News Item page.

Modify any of the following data.

Headline	Enter text for the news item's headline. The headline links to the news item on the Home page.
Appears	Enter the date the news item is to appear on the Home page.
Expires	Enter the date the news items is to stop being displayed on the Home page.
Restriction Type	Select Unrestricted to display the news item to all users. Select Location to restrict the news item to all users at the location level. To restrict the news item to a specific location, enter the location number in Restricted to Location. Select Corporation to restrict the news item to all corporate users. To restrict the news item to a specific corporation, enter the location number in Restricted to Corporation. Select Territory to restrict the news item to all users in a specific territory. To restrict the news item to a specific territory, enter the area number in Restricted to Territory.

Change the news content in the text box. Use the buttons in the box to format the text.

To add an attachment to the news item, click the Add Attachment button, browse to the location of the file you want to attach, and then double-click the file to upload it.. item.

To remove an attachment, click the Delete Attachment button and click Yes in the Confirmation dialog.

To add an image to the news item, click the Add Image button and browse to the location of the gif, jpg, or png file you want to attach, and then double-click the file to upload it.

Click the Insert Image in Editor button to add the image to the news content edit box.

Click the Save Changes button.
